Plastic surgery is a medical specialty concerned with the correction or restoration of form and function.

General opinion:

On the one hand, there is people who think that plastic surgery is something antinatural and hides people’s real appearance. Also it can be unhealthy because some  operations can be dangerous.

2009 European Year of Creativity and Innovation

We have read the proyect of European Year of creativity and inovation and these are the main ideas:

1. The European comission, manages the general interests of the Union ( it proposes legislation to Parliament and the Council, administers and implements Community policies, to enforce Community law and negotiates international agreements).
2. The aim of the Council of Europe is to achieve a greater unity between its members. The  menber states:The Council of Europe has a genuine pan-European dimension: 47 members countries and 1 applicant country: Belarus; Belarus ‘ special guest status has been suspended due to its lack of respect for human rights and democratic principles. Some important aims are: to protect human rights, pluralist democracy and the rule of law; to consolidate democratic stability in Europe by backing political, legislative and constitutional reform.
   The main component parts of the Council of Europe are:  the Committee of Ministers,the Parliamentary Assembly,the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities and  Secretary General.

Red-light district

De Wallen, also known as Walletjes or Rosse Buurt, is the largest and best-known red-light district in Amsterdam, a major tourist attraction. It is a network of alleys containing several hundred tiny one-room apartments rented by male and female prostitutes who offer their services from behind a window or glass door, typically illuminated with red lights. The area also has a number of sex shops, sex theatres, peep shows, an erotic museum, a cannabis museum, and a number of coffee shops offering various cannabis products. The city administration is pursuing a policy of reducing the number of venues.

The Anne Frank House on the Prinsengracht in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, is a museum dedicated to Jewish wartime diarist Anne Frank, who hid from Nazi persecution with her family and four other people in hidden rooms at the rear of the building. As well as the preservation of the hiding place — known in Dutch as the Achterhuis — and an exhibition on the life and times of Anne Frank, the museum acts as an exhibition space to highlight all forms of persecution and discrimination.

It opened on May 3, 1960 with the aid of public subscription, three years after a foundation was established to protect the property from developers who wanted to demolish the block
